Submissions, or: I Was No Longer Your Dominant

The Haute Magie release catalogue is a very family-oriented one. Thus, the majority of releases we put out will be ones from artists and bands we've hand-chosen. We also have a few roster-artists with whom we work with on a consistent basis. This being said, we do still love to hear what others are creating, and will never be ones to miss out on hearing our next favourite album. We now accept digital submissions.

Physical Submissions

Physical submissions of past albums, new material, or some other artefact of your abilities can be posted to

Haute Magie
8525 N. Capital of Tx Hwy #2052
Austin TX 78759

Please ensure that the return address is clearly written on the envelope or in a note, and that you include your e-mail address or phone number.

Electronic Submissions

Digital submissions can be sent to

relics @ hautemagie.com

We greatly prefer downloadable MP3s (though the work must be available in a lossless format (WAV, FLAC, etc.) for a final master submission) in at least 320kbps over streaming audio. Please do not send attachments.

Either way, please also include a little information about yourself, your band / project, your favourite recipe. Anything.

Though it is not enforceable (unless, perhaps, the Ludovico treatment is applied), it is highly suggested that one reads both parts of the manifesto, as well as the short blurb on the about page before submitting any work, to acquire a feel for what Haute Magie is all about. We are not an audio chop shop, and therefore, we do not want the scraps of the independent music world. Our biggest pull is someone who is highly devoted and dedicated to their craft.

Although we do prefer to hear a completed demo, you are perfectly welcome to send a few choice pieces / songs, a past album, live DVDs / VHSs, and anything else you can muster up. Any format is acceptable. As for the formats on which we'll release, it is entirely circumstantial and relative to the work and needs of the artist(s) involved, but the basics are to be had (CD, CD-R, cassette, VHS, DVD, 3", 7 / 10 & 12" vinyl, microcassette).

It's In The Cards

If you've read through enough of this page and others, and can still get behind what Haute Magie is about, see our favourite hand of cards for a healthy dose of what we're looking to work with.

Magic Isn't For Everyone

I realise that this may not be important to most people, because 'art is art, who cares what it sounds / looks / etc. like', but if you honestly think that all sounds, words, or images are pure, then you need to clean your ears out. With fire? Fire Of The Mind... See our black(magic)list to read what we're not looking for.
