Stretched between sweeping post-rock lullabies and devastating doom metal mantras, Bunrage's Garry Brents can certainly manage to cover a lot of aural ground. With Bunrage, he manages to somehow soak up all of his homegrown influences and deliver incredible, emotionally-driven electronic masterpieces, jumping from ambient passages to calculated soul-stomps in a split second.
A classically trained guitarist finding his influenced rooted in black metal, doom, and harsh noise, Jon Rosenthal is somewhat of a riddle, and a talented one, at that. With Footpaths, ambient, desolate, and minimal yet extremely intricate compositions based on a few simple guitar lines, both plucked and bowed, turn into swells of sound.
